Hyejin Youn

Hyejin Youn is an assistant professor at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and Northwestern Institute on Complex Systems (NICO). A physicist by training, Hyejin’s research has cut across the boundaries of subject matter, from physics to economics, anthropology and linguistics. This interdisciplinary effort is reflected on her career path: beginning with a PhD in Physics, then leading to a research fellowship at the Santa Fe Institute and Harvard Kennedy School, a visiting scientist at MIT Media Lab, and a senior research fellowship at the Mathematical Institute at the University of Oxford. She also ran a National Science Foundation grant (USA) to study Technological Change from the Map of Capabilities.
